This policy covers btsind.com, operated by Billiton Services Private Limited, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. It is written to meet our obligations as a Data Fiduciary under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
It does not cover our employee systems (HRMS and the employee portal), which are governed by your employment terms, or third-party sites we link to.
What we collect, and why
| What | When | Why | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Name, email, phone, area of interest, your message | You submit the contact form | To answer your enquiry and keep a record of what was discussed | Until you ask us to delete it |
| Name, email, phone, current employer, experience, cover note, CV file | You apply for a role | To assess your application and contact you about it | 2 years, unless you ask us to remove it sooner |
| IP address, pages viewed, time on each page, scroll depth, device, browser, referring site, campaign tags | Every visit to this site | To understand which pages are useful and where visitors come from | Set in our admin panel — currently a maximum of 365 days |
| A visitor ID and a session ID, stored in cookies | Every visit | To count one person as one person rather than as ten page views | Visitor ID 12 months; session ID 30 minutes |
Cookies
We set two cookies, both first-party — they are readable only by this site and are not shared with any advertising network:
bt_vid— a random identifier so repeat visits are recognised as the same browser. Expires after 12 months.bt_sid— groups the pages of a single visit together. Expires after 30 minutes of inactivity.
Neither contains your name, email or any detail you have given us. Blocking or deleting them does not affect anything on the site — you will simply be counted as a new visitor next time. We use no advertising, retargeting or cross-site tracking cookies of any kind.
Who else sees your data
We keep this list deliberately short, and we would rather tell you exactly who than write "trusted partners".
- Hostinger — our hosting provider. Your data sits on their servers in their data centre.
- Google reCAPTCHA — runs on the contact and job application forms to stop automated spam. Google receives your IP address and interaction data for that check. This is the only third-party script on the site.
- IP location lookup — if a member of our team needs to know roughly where an enquiry came from, they can request a city-level lookup for that one address, which sends that IP to an external lookup service. This is manual and per-address; we do not bulk-export visitor data.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. Our web fonts are served from our own server, so no font provider sees your visit.
Your rights under the DPDP Act
As a Data Principal you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data of yours we hold and what we have done with it
- correct anything inaccurate, incomplete or out of date
- erase data we no longer need for the purpose it was collected
- nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you are unable to
- raise a grievance, which we must address within a reasonable period
Write to the address in the Grievance Officer section below. We will ask you to confirm your identity first, so that nobody else can request your data.
Withdrawing consent
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time by emailing us. Withdrawal does not undo anything done lawfully before it, and it may mean we can no longer progress an enquiry or job application.
How we protect it
The site runs over HTTPS. Administrative access requires a password and is locked after repeated failed attempts. Uploaded CVs and employee documents are stored outside the publicly readable part of the site and are served only to signed-in staff. Backups exclude credentials.
No system is perfect. If we ever discover a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify the Data Protection Board and affected individuals as the Act requires.
Children
This site is aimed at businesses and job seekers. We do not knowingly collect personal data of anyone under 18. If you believe a child has submitted information, tell us and we will delete it.
Grievance Officer
Under Section 13 of the DPDP Act you may contact our Grievance Officer about anything in this policy or about how your data has been handled:

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or why, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
